Here’s a short condensed itinerary of our wine trip
Flew into Paris and took the train down to Beaune
Part of my trip included pre paid shuttle and guide. However, rental car is an easy way to get around Burgundy or even bike riding.
Beaune is the main town in this area and has plenty of nice accommodations and restaurants, but be careful, lots of places are closed on weekends.
Clos Vougeot
The legendary site where the Vin and Hip Hop event took place. This ancient building was home to a large wine production facility for centuries run by the monks. It proved a truly epic site for this outdoor musical event.
Vin et Hip Hop Burgundy Event
The event feature live hip hop music from multiple hip hop groups from Burgundy to France. The vibe was real and the wine definitely flowed. I find one person not having an amazing time. Even if your not really into hip hop, this event was for everyone, and the experience cast wide net of interests and people.
Maison A&S
Inside the simple and humble wine making facility of Maison A&S up in the Hautes Cotes as starkly different. They made pure honest wine and their energy and enthusiasm was palpable. I really enjoyed the lighter fresh style and the innovative and creative wine making techniques combined with truly grand vineyards and terroir.
Jermaine Stone “The Wolf of Wine”
One of the driving forces behind the Vin et Hip Hop event, Stone is a pioneer in the fusion of wine and modern music culture. He partners with Jeremy Seysses of Domaine Dujac, and both have a strong focus on not only wine and music, but also the arts, food, and fasion.
Caves Madeleine
One the most delicious restaurants in all of Burgundy, Caves Madeline crushes all the classics while featuring a crazy deep Burgundy wine list. One dish after another was a stunner, made in classic old school french style.
Rolling Vineyards of Burgundy
One thing people forget about Burgundy is just how beautiful it is. Lost sometimes in the world of high wine prices and prestige is the fact that most here are simple farmers, who make delicious wine and cook amazing foods. In many ways, the simple, rustic, and beautiful Burgundy is just under the surface of the soil.
