Travel to Cali with us!

Here is a short itinerary of our trips

Here’s a short condensed itinerary of our wine trip

  • While many of the wines featured this month are from Napa/Sonoma area, some of the wines are from all over Cali, including, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Lodi etc..

  • Car rental is a great way to get around but Uber can be useful and safe once you get to a good wine town.

  • Wine tour drivers are also available but usually hiring a private driver is the way to go as the commercial tours generally feature pretty boring wineries.

Mountain Vineyards of Mayacamas

The epic mountainside vineyards of Mayacamas. This pic clearly shows the vineyards above the fog line, leading to extra sunshine but cooler temps, preserving the elegance of the wines.

Healthy Vineyards of Matthiason

The magically Phoenix vineyard, where some of Matthiason’s best wines come from. He is an expert farming and does several farming consultations with other regional wineries.

Greg La Follette, Master of Pinot and Chard

Master wine maker Greg in his element. A legend in the wine community consistently making some of the best Pinot and Chard in the state.

The Mythical French Laundry

One of the world’s great wine restaurants. Situated in Napa, it has one of the deepest wine lists on earth, and the amazing cuisine of Thomas Keller.

Arnot-Roberts Tasting Room

Sourcing grapes from some of California’s best vineyards, their quaint tasting room in Healdsburg is a great place to try their wide variety of great wines.

Tri-Tip at Hitching Post

Santa Maria style tri tip is one of my favorite foods from the Cali wine scene. This homemade version is a tribute to an amazing meal at the Hitching Post in the Santa Barbara area.
