2008 An excellent introduction to the brilliance of the 2008 vintage in Champagne, this has a cornucopia of citrus, toast and brioche notes, plus some red-fruit character. Powerful and structured, but very focused with impressive chalky minerality, this is just reaching ideal drinking form. Very long, tantalizing finish, where the high natural acidity is well integrated. A blend of 50% pinot noir and 50% chardonnay all from Grand Cru villages. Drink or hold.
